Understanding the Corner Radius (The "R" Value)
The corner radius is the measurement of the curve at the corners of your spa. Getting this right is one of the most important steps for a perfect fit. A cover with the wrong radius won't seal properly, leading to heat loss and a shorter lifespan for the cover itself.
4 Simple Steps to Measure Your Spa
Step 1: Measure Length & Width
Measure the outer lip of the spa shell from edge to edge (do not measure the inside). We recommend adding 20mm to each measurement to allow for a slight overlap.
Step 2: Measure the Corner Radius
Place two straight edges (like rulers or a builder's square) flush against a corner. The distance from the point where the rulers meet back to the point where the spa's curve begins is your corner radius.
Step 3: Measure the Skirt Length
Measure from the top surface of the spa shell down to the top of the cabinet. This determines how long the cover's "skirt" will hang down.
Step 4: Measure Latch Locations
Measure the distance from each outer edge of the spa to the centre of the catch. Also, measure from the top of the spa shell down to the centre of the catch.

We have a Nitro 1 V2 and the cover replacement was well overdue. Our original cover was a thick polystyrene " Arctic" which I was told by a sales rep that all Vortex covers are now. The replacement fits well but is a lot thinner ( less insulated?). Maybe the definition of Artic has changed?
I'm so happy to be able to use the lifter again and enjoy the whole pool.
The new cover security plugs are a little bigger than the original so we'll need to purchase 8 bottom bits as new cover has 8 vs 4.

The new cover fits well. It looks great and I should have replaced the old cover much sooner. I had to remove the old clips and install the new clips (provided) as the new ones are slightly larger, but that was easy and they clip in and out smoothly now.
I'm very happy with the cover lifter, however what is not explained in the description, is that if your spa pool is only 800mm high, you need to trim the upright support poles, as they are too high. You also need to shorten the poles of the cradle where the cover sits as they will be too long. Oh and you need to drill new holes so the pins line up on the shorter poles.
And I think the $45 freight charge is a bit of a stretch, describing the package as over sized.
But now that it's all the right size, it's a good product. Just suited for bigger pools I think.

I purchased this spa cover lifter for my Jacuzzi J335 spa pool. Its made well, while also being very easy to build. I would highly recommend for other spas, not just Vortex.
Ordered a replacement cover for our swim spa which is made to order and then shipped from China. Takes a couple of months to arrive but we are happy with the result, replacement cover fits perfectly and looks great, initially clips were a different size to our existing clips but Marge quickly sorted us some heavy duty replacements at no charge. Freight costs had increased since we ordered so did have to pay extra for freight. Overall happy with the cover and the service.
