Troubleshooting
What should I do if my pool water becomes less clear?
As Pool Alchemy water treatment initially starts to work, it can take up to 3 days to clear up your water, pipes and pool surfaces of hidden contaminants. However if your pool has heavy usage, long exposure to direct sunlight, is contaminated with lotions or creams, or has any sign of decreased water clarity for longer than 3 days, increase your standard dosage amount to 1500ml per 15,000 litres until water becomes clear again. Thoroughly clean your filters weekly to help speed up the process.
Once the water has cleared up, go back to using 1000ml of Pool Alchemy water treatment per 15,000 litres every 6 - 8 weeks.
Why did my water lose clarity when I dosed it with Pool Alchemy water treatment?
When dosing your pool with Pool Alchemy water treatment, you may find your water gets slightly cloudy or foams up in some cases. This is Pool Alchemy water treatment removing all the hidden contaminants from your water, pipes and filters and should clear up within 3 days. As long as you have followed the instructions, you can still enjoy your pool during this period.
What can I do if my pool water is visibly dirty and I do not want to change my water when I start using Pool Alchemy water treatment?
It is highly recommended that you thoroughly clean your pool surfaces, pipes and filters, and refill it with fresh water before beginning your hassle-free Pool Alchemy water treatment journey. If you are not in a position to do so, you may have to dose your pool with some chlorine or hydrogen peroxide to kill any nasty pathogens and wait for a week. If your water looks like it has cleared up, you can now begin using Pool Alchemy water treatment.
Additional tips for best results
Sometimes you may see a slight decrease in clarity, a slight organic smell or a bit of foaming. This should clear up on its own in a few days. If you want to speed up the process you should clean the filters thoroughly with a filter cleaner and rinse well to remove any residue. You could also use some pipe and surface cleaner to clean the inside surfaces and pipes of your pool. A drain and refill after thorough cleaning will also reset your pool water chemistry and allow Pool Alchemy water treatment to do its job better.
In rare cases, stubborn or resistant contaminants (algae, moss, etc.) may persist. You could try shock dosing your pool water with chlorine or peroxide based water sanitiser to cleanse your pool water. Pool Alchemy can be used in conjunction with chlorine, bromine or other oxidisers.
During heavy use, contaminants such as lotions, oils, sunscreens and soap residue in bathing suits, may reduce the clarity of your pool water. Follow your pool manufacturer’s recommendations on periodic draining and refilling of pool.
CAUTION
Undiluted formula can be an irritant. Avoid eye contact. Do not drink. Do not inhale mist or vapour. Always use as directed.
First aid
Eyes: In case of contact with undiluted formula, flush with cool water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, call a physician.
Ingestion: Drink cool water and call a physician. Do not induce vomiting.
